The iPhonist
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010Since last summer, I have increasingly taken interest in ‘iphoneography’ which is photography with the Apple iPhone. The funny thing is that the iPhone camera isn’t that wonderful. In fact Apple could have done a lot better in speccing it up but then they wouldn’t have additional features to release and generate more revenue later on. Anyway, having such a basic camera is what makes ‘iphoneography’ a fun challenge.
The rules of iphoneography state that editing is allowed and even encouraged but only by using native on board apps. Now there are plenty of photography applications on the iTunes store and I shall share with you the ones that I use. Firstly, if you haven’t already, please visit my site dedicated to my iPhone photos: theiphonist.com
CameraKit – iTunes Link
The app I use most often.
Tilt Shift Generator - iTunes Link
Great for creating depth of field and miniature fakes
Photogene – iTunes Link
An all-round application for editing and enhancing
Camera Bag – iTunes Link
Good for producing Holga and Lomo imitations. I don’t use this as often as I used to.
iFlash Ready – iTunes Link
Useful app for fill-in-flash on underexposed images
